Local pharmaceutical distributors Indies Pharma Jamaica Ltd will this week publicly offer a part of its company on the Jamaica Stock Exchange with plans to expand its footprint into the Caribbean market with the funds raised.

THE WESTERN Jamaica-based pharmaceutical company, Indies Pharma, has donated prescription and non-prescription drugs to the Haitian-relief programme valued at $18 million (US$207,500).
The Jamaican-owned organisation has already handed over the medical supplies to the Ministry of Health, company chairman Dr Guna Muppuri told The Gleaner.

In keeping with its motto 'Caring for the Nation's Health', the company's president and chief executive officer, Dr Guna Muppuri, told The Gleaner that the initiative, valued at J$3.6 million, was about alleviating the pain and distress of the many Jamaicans suffering from bronchial asthma.

Chief executive officer of Indies Pharma, Dr. Guna Sekhar Muppuri, announced on Thursday at a press conference at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay, that his company had already started to supply the over 27 highly-competitively-priced medications to pharmacies islandwide.
